Hopefully this will be eventually resolved and I can remove the FSUIPC7 workarounds for my Alpha and Bravo controllers.

We shouldn’t have to use 3rd party paid software to fix bugs in the sim but it is what it is for now. I’ve used it in the past so decided to purchase and support the developer.

We should use FSUIPC (and others) to expand the simulator in inventive and creative ways - not to fix the simulators handling of basic switches present in common peripherals.įSUIPC7 is out of Beta and available for purchase. Good luck to all who choose to employ FSUIPC or vJoy to workaround this bug (I might yet if this is still a problem in a few months) but I think we should all expect, and pressure, Asobo to fix the basics. Eventually, FS2020 will become a viable target for ‘tinkering’ I hope. It is worth time and effort because I know I will ENJOY the end result. The datarefs won’t change overnight, my plugins (probably) won’t get dorked by an update. I’m building up panels/hardware for X-Plane which is an older more mature product. FS2020 has some way to go before it could be considered stable. Simply put, it is beyond my patience to spend time in FSUIPC/Lua while everything is in flux. Conversely, Asobo might release a fix to this bug today for all we know (opimistic perhaps?).

Updates themselves are difficult (for some of us who get download loops with this product and this product alone) and take a lot of time and frustration to complete.

My own experience of FS2020 is that each and every update introduces some issues, and this looks likely to continue for a while yet. The sim is not mature and also a moving target. Will Asobo now say buy FSUIPC to fix our ‘partner’ products (or more correctly, to work around basic HID bugs)? Given how overloaded the tech support guys are and the pressures from the community on so many fronts they may see this as acceptable.
FSUIPC is still in beta and likely to change, when out of Beta it will cost money. I do not need FSUIPC for any other purpose - it adds some overhead and more complexity. Personally, I am unwilling, at the moment, to employ such work arounds and would much prefer that Asobo fix the core bug. It’s a great option but how long for and at what cost? With FSUIPC Pete Dowson on Simflight can put you right.Great information, thanks. If you still have problems with the rudder pedals being recognised in FSX (Windows) - shoot over to the CH-Hangar forum and ask the resident "Guru" - Bob Church for help with this problem. If Rescan doesn't work or is "grayed" out - just wiggle your other game controllers just a bit and then rescan for the rudder again. Repeat exactly for the Left and Right Brakes then go into Joystick calibration and calibrate the axes make sure you have the brakes set to "REVERSE". Press rescan again (no values in the boxes) and move the rudder again if it returns the same ID as above go ahead and assign it "Direct to FSUIPC". (on MY system the rudder pedals are Joy# "0" and Axix # "Z" Note that.

Open FSX check sensitivities all are full right and null zone full leftĬlick Rescan (make sure there are NO values in the Joy# and the Axis# boxes) and move the rudder pedals an you should get an indication which controller is connected and what axis you have moved. Make sure though that Windows can "see" the rudder pedals, if windows can see it then FSX and FSUIPC can.
(check the keyboard and mouse too and everytime you start FSX especially if you change USB positions regularly). In FSX remove all assignments under settings for the rudder pedals if you have duplicate assignments then FSUIPC may not work. I would consider a reinstall as the very last resort.Īre you using the CH Control Manager to assign/calibrate the axes?
Your problem sounds like there is a conflict with the throttle and it may be due to a duplicate assignment or a sensitivity/null zone issue. If you definitely need to run CHCM in "mapped" mode you may be better posting on the CH-Hangar Forum ( ) and the guru over there is a guy called Bob Church. Make sure that you have NO duplicate assignments both FS9/FSX "assign" duplicates to other axes (and sometimes to the keyboard and this can cause issues.)Ĭheck the sensitivity and null zone in FS9/FSX to enure sensitivity is full right and the null zone is full left (adjust later). (If you run CHCM in direct mode or in the background - I have found that FS9/FSX can assign and calibrate axes etc as well as CHCM). (CHCM in "mapped" mode is usually only needed for complex control assignments) Unless you need very special commands on your HOTAS it may be better to assign and calibrate all axes and buttons via FS9/FSX.
